
Ashley Benz, BHS, MA, CLC, LCCE, IBCLC graduated from the University of Kentucky in 2008 with a Bachelors
of Health Sciences in Communication Disorders (Speech-Language Pathology.) In 2008 Ashley completed a DONA approved birth
doula training and she completed her Certified Lactation Counseling training and exam in 2009. In 2010 Ashley completed the
Lamaze International childbirth educator training and passed the Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator exam in the same year.
In 2011 Ashley graduated with her Master's in Maternal Health with emphasis in lactation consulting. Later that year she
passed the rigorous International Board Certified Lactation Consultant exam and received the IBCLC credential.
Ashley is a wife to Mark and mother of two beautiful children, Sarah Grace and Solomon. Ashley's passion is
helping women experience fulfilling births and nursing relationships because, as a nursing mother herself, she understands
and appreciates the wide range of emotional, mental, and physical benefits of normal birth and breastfeeding to both the mother
and the child.
Ashley is a member of The Kentuckiana Lactation Improvement
Coalition, has served on the Board of Directors of Louisville's Birth Care Network (where she is currently a member) and
is the co-leader for Louisville's chapter of The International Cesarean Awareness Network.
