In Greek, the word doula means "female servant." As a DONA trained birth doula, Ashley supports women and their families in labor and birth. Doulas provide physical, emotional and informational support for their clients. Doulas do not perform routine medical tasks but rather are professional labor support. Knowing what normal and abnormal labor and birth look like, a doula can help a family understand all of their options about birth choices and help families have safe and satisfying births. Ashley takes great pride in providing excellent care for all of her clients and, therefore, only takes a limited number of doula clients per month. She feels strongly that all families should choose a doula that fits well with their personalities and provides an initial consultation at no charge. Her doula fee is $350 per birth.
